Visionary Education

Featuring the same platform utilized intraprocedurally in the clinical space, Mediview’s technology provides students with a cutting edge training environment through augmented reality (AR) and telecollaboration, enabling immersive first-hand learning experiences for optimized transition from classroom to clinic.

 Immersive Education with 3D Visualization

AR is permitting students to visualize and interact with 3D data and imaging in new ways never before possible.  The ability to visualize medical imaging in 3D has been shown to improve medical student learning, retention, test scores and understanding of complex 3D anatomy.  Using AR in surgery has been shown to materially change surgical planning in 33% or more cases.

Remote Telecollaboration & Training

MediView’s AR technologies hold the potential to democratize the delivery of healthcare and significantly enhance training opportunities though immersive remote collaboration experiences.  Through the use of an AR headset, MediScout can connect multiple students, their instructors, or external practitioners, and allow them to have a first-person viewpoint of the training environment or procedure through any internet-connected device (mobile phone, tablet, PC, etc.), enabling them to actively engage in the procedure and offer voice and video guidance as they view integrated ultrasound imaging. In addition, the remote viewer can annotate directly on the training environment to giving visual directions that show up in 3D within the caregiver’s field of view.  MediScout closes the gap in the learning curve and maximizes learning retention in the transition from the training environment to the real world. This can allow for broad medical education to students and remote participants, and the ability to leverage the best clinicians for collaborative care from anywhere.

Unprecedented Telecollaboration

MediView’s technologies when used for collaboration will allow practitioners from anywhere in the world a first-person viewpoint of the procedure through any internet connected device, allowing them to actively engage in the procedure offering guidance as they view the actual surgical environment. These capabilities will democratize healthcare and allow underserved or remote populations increased support and access.

Case Study: University of Findlay

University of Findlay’s College of Health Professions is the first academic program in the United States to incorporate Mediview’s MediScout technology in their hands-on Sonography Program curriculum.

“We are extremely excited about all the benefits that will come from the addition of MediView’s technology for our Sonography Program and we are very fortunate that UF and MediView can provide this opportunity for our students.”

Susan Watters, D.H.Sc.

Assistant Professor of Sonography, Director of Sonography Programs, Chair of the Diagnostic Services Department, The University of Findlay
