MediView® Technology
Augmented Reality Technology for Precise Visualization
MediView's platform supports workflow efficiency, improved ergonomics and informed decision making to empower clinicians for minimally invasive procedures.
2D Problem
MediView is utilizing AR to address the long-standing limitations of current imaging technologies. Flat panel monitors limit practitioners to 2D imaging when navigating 3D anatomy, resulting in increased cognitive load, and require them to look away from the patient’s procedural site, which can disrupt hand-eye-coordination and potentially impact outcomes. No current medical imaging technology provides surgeons a true 3D volumetric method to directly visualize and interact with patient internal anatomy during percutaneous procedures.
3D Solution
MediView’s proprietary technology combines spatial computing, mixed reality, and medical imaging to provide proceduralists with 3D “X-Ray vision” during procedures – the ability to visualize a patient’s comprehensive internal anatomy underneath their skin, including bone, tissue, organs, and vasculature.
The technology projects 3D images of the patient’s anatomy based on their CT imaging and fuses it with live ultrasound to better inform clinicians during minimally invasive procedures, such as biopsies and tumor ablations. With MediView’s suite of solutions, practitioners can visualize and assess the tool-to-anatomy relationship through real-time needle trajectory planning, facilitating spatial perception and accuracy when navigating patient anatomy and avoiding critical anatomical structures in the operating room.
